Whitening is a process where the tooth discolouration is ‘whitened’ to a lighter shade. It removes the staining agent through chemical means without removing any of the tooth surface. It is a safe procedure when carried out under professional supervision.

We offer three types of whitening. ‘At Home, Zoom In Surgery and Combined.’

At Home
We offer an ‘at home’ whitening treatment. This consists of 2 appointments, the first being to take an impression mould of your teeth for whitening trays to be made by our skilled dental technicians. The second is 2 weeks later to collect the trays and whitening gel, the trays are to be worn 2 hours a night for 2 consecutive weeks.

In Surgery Zoom Whitening This teeth whitening procedure begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. Your dentist will then apply Zoom! Advanced Power ™ whitening gel to your teeth. This is applied to the enamel (the protective outer coating) of the tooth and is then heated with a special Zoom! Advanced Power™ lamp. The active ingredient in the Zoom! Advanced Power ™ whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide which works to quickly provide the desired teeth whitening results.

The lamp activates the gel, helping to penetrate the enamel and bleaching away any discolouration without changing the structure of the teeth. When the Zoom! Advanced Power ™ lamp is turned on, the whitening process, which takes less than an hour, begins.

This consists of In Surgery Zoom whitening with the added trays to ‘top up’ the whitening affect at a later date, should you desire.
